Preface

The data sent by INPS have cripted personal and firm identification codes (see the overview on WHIP). Because of the richness of the information contained in the archives, one could in principle get to the identification of a confined block of individuals with particular wage or career characteristics. In the management of WHIP source data, the Code of Deontology and good behaviour for the treatment of personal data for statistical and scientific purposes has been followed (resolution proclaimed in June 2004 by the Authority for the protection of personal data, see here).
In conformity with this code, two policies have been implemented to make WHIP available, according to two different versions of the same database.
