Fabio Berton è Quantitative Policy Analyst on Impact Evaluation presso il Joint Research Center della Commissione Europea e Professore Associato di Politica Economica (in congedo) presso il Dipartimento di Economia e Statistica dell’Università di Torino. E' anche Fellow presso CIRET, IZA e il LABORatorio R. Revelli. Ha conseguito il Dottorato di Ricerca in Economia presso l’Università di Torino nel 2008 e il Master in Economia presso il CORIPE nel 2004. I suoi interessi di ricerca sono relativi all’economia del lavoro applicata, e in particolare alla deregolamentazione del mercato del lavoro e ai contratti di lavoro temporanei. È autore di ‘The Political Economy of Work, Security and Flexibility’ (The Policy Press, 2012), di ‘Flex-insecurity’ (Il Mulino, 2009) –considerato un punto di riferimento per gli studi sulla liberalizzazione del mercato del lavoro italiano– e di altri articoli su riviste nazionali e internazionali, tra le quali Economic Journal, l’Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, la Review of Financial Studies, il Journal of Economic Inequality e il British Journal of Industrial Relations. Nel 2007-08 è stato visiting scholar al Center for Labor Economics dell’Università della California a Berkeley.

Fabio Berton is Quantitative Policy Analyst on Impact Evaluation at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission and Associate Professor of Economic Policy (on leave) at the Department of Economic and Statistics, University of Torino. He is also Research Fellow at CIRET, IZA and LABORatorio R. Revelli. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Torino (2008) and a M.Sc. in Economics from CORIPE (2004). His research focuses on applied labor economics, and on labor market deregulation and temporary employment in particular. He is author of ‘The Political Economy of Work, Security and Flexibility’ (The Policy Press, 2012), of ‘Flex-insecurity’ (Il Mulino, 2009) –considered a cornerstone among the studies on labor market deregulation in Italy– as well as of many articles on national and international journals, including the Economic Journal, the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Economic Inequality and the British Journal of Industrial Relations. In 2007-8 he was visiting scholar at the Center for Labor Economics of the University of California at Berkeley.
